That other shore

This is my entry for this month's Virtual Sketch Date. When I first saw the gorgeous photo of Lake Louise, Canada, submitted by Debbie Later, I thought I would skip doing this month's entry. Not that the image isn't inspiring, it's just that I didn't feel a connection to it. But then I experimented to see if there wasn't something I could find there. This is the result.

One does not discover new lands
without consenting
to lose sight of the shore
for a very long time.

    While the rocks and shrubbery are fine, my eye went right to the reflection. Your crop appeals to me because it is ambiguous - there is an air of mystery in the shapes reflected in the water. That's one of the things I like best about VSD, the various ways people approach the source material. As always, yours is lovely.
