Spring Cleaning

Sorry for my sparse postings of late. I have been in a spring cleaning frenzy these last few weeks. As a result I now have bags and bags of stuff to donate. I can now find the books on my book shelves and actually walk into our little attic space. It's amazing what one house can accumulate over the years. Tons of stuff. And here, our small home is also where we work and school. Having multi-purposes for every room means clutter happens fast if we're not careful.

So while I am in this de-cluttering state I haven't worked on art as much. One thing at a time, you know. I did do a couple of sketches last week in my hand.book journal. Above is one of them, from a photo taken while on our recent beach trip, of the marshes at Edisto. This is sepia Pitt pen with watercolor wash. Two mediums I am probably the least comfortable with, pen and watercolor. Must be the coming of spring that has me changing everything about.

  9. Such a quiet peaceful sketch. Love the rendering of blue sky in the water. It's hard to believe you struggle with either medium looking at this.

  10. I cross stitched a sign of Murphy's Household law that states: Any horizontal surface is soon covered with stuff. That is just how houses are.

I'm so uncomfortable with many mediums, yet.
