Everyday Matters

A couple of Everyday Matters drawing challenges, doubled up because I missed yesterday's Every Day in May post. The top is Everyday matters drawing challenge #221, draw a hand held game. It's done in graphite and watercolor pencils. So this is one of Kiddo's games. After successfully completing several levels of games, the stuffed toy popped out. Just in case you're wondering what the heck that thing is.

My other 'what the heck is that' is for drawing challenge #222, draw your favorite drawing tool, done in graphite. A kneaded eraser has to be my favorite drawing tool, along with graphite. I love to smudge the graphite around on the paper and then "draw" back into it with a kneaded eraser. And for graphite, in my sketchbooks, I usually use inexpensive mechanical pencils. The one in the drawing is made by Rose Art, I believe. Both sketches are in my small hand.book journal.

  1. I love kneaded erasers too. Aren't they just about the handiest invention ever? I'm going to use them more as I finished my Bible study and can have a bit more time for art, now. It will be fun to see what happens over this spring and summer with more time.

  2. These are Beautiful drawings--I have no clue (being crabby, old, out of touch and decrepid) what the hand held game is...but looks like something you toss around----close??

  5. Nothing like the smell and feel of a good old kneaded eraser :) I have used a Pilot technical pencil (now no longer made) with a b or 2b lead for years but I have to admit to recently returning to wood pencils simply because I love the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil - nothing quite like that either. :) Lovely art-play Ann.

  6. Very nice! Thanks for the explanation of the Amigurumi (!) jumping out of the game. For sure, I'd have jumped, screamed and dropped the whole thing.

  7. Thanks everyone! I know these are some odd looking drawings here!
Winna, it's an electronic game, that small screen on the front of the tubular thing moves up as game levels are mastered. When it reaches the top, the stuffed toy pops out. It amused kiddo during our last long car ride to the beach :)
