I played around again with my watercolor pencils the other evening. This scene is from the top of Rich Mountain, with watercolor pencils on cold press paper, about 6 x 8 inches. Having done almost daily practice with watercolor pencils for the 6 weeks of class, I find I am missing this activity. It was a nice, relaxing way to spend an evening.
I keep saying I am going to try to make drawing in my sketchbook a daily, or almost daily, activity. But saying that hasn't made it happen yet. So I try for as often as I can manage, which ultimately isn't as often as I wish.
This is a beautiful piece. Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteOh, that dappled sunlight is so nice! looks like such a peaceful place to be...
ReplyDeleteWow Ann, this one gives me a warm memory of a place I used to go. There are some places here in Germany that looks exactly like that, and it just feels so good to be there sometimes. I really like the gradient you applied to the sky, and all the fine details of the leaves and blades of grass(your signature). And the shadows are just so beautiful! :) I am just going to spend a little longer admiring this one.
ReplyDeleteit can be so hard finding the time to draw in a sketchbook everyday and I am amazed at the people that do find the time.
ReplyDeletereally nice soothing colours to the trees and great sense of light shining down on the grass :)
OOOOOh MY! If this isn't a "dead ringer' for one of our most favorite places along the Mississippi River back in Illinois I don't know what is!!!! Beautifully rendered...you brought back a fond memory for us...delightful colors and and perfect capture of the light! Simply joyful Ann! :)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular as always, Ann! By the way, there is a blog award over at my blog with your name on it! Please stop by!
ReplyDeleteYou are becoming a master at the watercolor pencil. Wonderful pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann!
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to find the time to draw and paint as often as you wish, I think we all wish the same: your art is really beautiful, colorful and peaceful. This painting is one excelent example of that...
Best regards,
Carolina
You just keep producing such lovely work. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about saying you are going to do something but not being able to find the time to do it. Your watercolor pencil work is wonderful. Thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog too.
ReplyDeleteThis one is so pretty. I'm thinking of learning to use mineral spirits on/with colored pencil right now. Hmmmm...
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful drawing and beautiful place! Love the use of blue, and the light, here. It looks peaceful and crispy and fresh!
