Keep trying

For further proof that I need way more practice with watercolor, this is my contribution for October's Monthly Sketch Project. But what better way to practice than with these online challenges. Makes it more fun and gives me that extra bit of motivation to keep trying. This was done in my watercolor Moleskine. The photo reference was mine, a view of Grandfather Mountain from Price Lake.

    This sums up why autumn is my favorite season. I look at the colors and wondering how gorgeous nature could be and yet so romantic at the same time. You've done a great job Ann, and frankly I don't see anything wrong with it too. I think the mountains at the back and the water in the front are magnificent.

    The shoreline space between the trees and the water is just delicious.

    The subtle fall colors found in Durango CO and Ispani IT make me long for the dramatic colors of fall found from the Carolinas to New England. That light! You brought me a bit of my youth. :)

    Very lovely, beautiful autumnal colours, the trees looks very effective.
    As for me, well it is rather nice to know where in the world I have been painting :-)
