Once upon an autumn

Fall

Neocolor II and colored pencil on hp paper

Just about one month ago it looked like this around here. Now the leaves are gone and the colors are softer. This is another of my Neocolor II studies, washed with water, then covered with dry colored pencil. And it's been sitting around for about a month waiting to be finished, so today I did. Just clearing the decks before the Keeping an Artist's Journal class begins next week.

i love the warm feeling I get from this piece looking at the red trees, but the greens have a calming effect. they work well together :)

  5. Gorgeous! I miss the fall trees of the northwest. Here, our trees go from green to brown to gone.

  7. Beautiful! Warm and rich colours to be kept when everything becomes a bit dull and grey.

  8. I've been wondering how come I always get so attached to your drawings like this one... so I shut my eyes, cleared everything.. and I opened my eyes again and I see the sky... :) You've done all your sky so well and they look so real. You know sometimes people say that the sky is as beautiful as it is in paintings, I believe those paintings are yours ^^
Oh yeah, I think the shadows of the trees are awesome too!
