Blue skies, calm waters, warm breezes. As we settle in for yet another weekend of brutal winter weather here in our mountains, I think I'll mix up some more watery blues and paint another coastal scene. Or draw a few sea shells. Or flowers. I don't know about you, but winter is really making me weary this year.

  3. This is sooooo calm and peaceful! Just what I needed. Like you, we're getting pelted with storms, snow, ice, the whole McGilla (however it's spelled) and I'm so tired of it all.

  6. Beautiful as always:)
What brand of oil are you using? I'm having a hard time with acrylic and I'm thinking it may be drying too fast... I'm slow as a turtle.

  7. Such beautiful violets, Ann! I think the one season that wears most on me is the summer. It get so hot and humid, so bright that my eyes hurt. I think I can take winter even better than that! LOL Yes, I am an oddball. Anyway, this is another gorgeous painting!

  9. Such beautiful spring-like colors! I can tell you're longing for spring. Perhaps we need to switch locations... I want some snow and you want warmer temps and to be closer to the coast.... ! !

  11. Wonderful, warm painting! And I'm with you on winter! Even though I'm in Texas and it's not as bad you have, it's worse than normal this year! And we're not getting as much sunshine! Oh, I long for some sunshine on my face!!

  12. I am presently re-reading Michener's Chesapeake, and this puts me in the mood!

Prepare for snow coming your way, too. Go get the milk and cocoa! Don't forget the marshmallows.

  16. The subtle blue of the sky, the fine details of the reflections over the water... the nice luscious green of the leaves... simply a great package that creates an immediate relaxing sensation to the audience. ^^

  17. Thank you all for your wonderful comments!

Carol - they are Winsor-Newton water mixable oils.

Teresa - okay! But when it gets hot we get to trade back - deal?
