I'm in between things here. So I haven't been doing much art lately, which is really starting to bug me. However I have been feeling like getting into all sorts of crafty projects. I've been looking at new patterns to crochet, and lovely and fun fabrics, dreaming about all the cool things I could sew. It must be the season. I've been busy planning homeschool lessons, clearing out the old to make way for the new. I somehow manage to forget just how much work that is every year. But it's fun. Starting a new routine and all. Once the dust settles I am sure I'll be back to my sketchbook and little canvases.
This is painting #41 of my 100 painting project. It's a view from Botany Bay at Edisto Island, SC, where a long boardwalk takes you through a marsh and on out to the beach.
Yet another gorgeous painting! I love your marvelous use of color.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe all that you do with your art and home schooling! Obviously you are very organized. You must be a wonderful teacher.
your scene makes me feel so good as I eye wander though....
ReplyDeleteyou have made it look magical
Another beauty! I'm waiting for the cooler weather of fall ( and, not patiently either) to make a trip to Botany Bay. Your paintings are such a delight to see.
ReplyDeleteI could totally sense the calmness of this one, and I really enjoyed seeing the colors being mixed to show the beauty of nature ^^
ReplyDeleteThis looks very inviting, soft and tranquil.
ReplyDeleteAs always, Ann, your colors are magical! This is one gorgeous place, Edisto Bay, and I'm so glad I can see it through your eyes. I get the craft instead of art leanings at times myself. Right now I kind of want to be working in art. Still, fear keeps me not working on a piece as I should. Always so afraid I'll ruin it! Hoping your daughter is excited about this new school year! I always wanted to homeschool my kids and have suggested that they do that with their own. Neither are willing but I just can imagine how much richer the education is!
ReplyDeleteGreat sense of distance on this one with lovely colours. I'm looking forward to to getting back into routine too..but I get less time to do art during the school year!
ReplyDeletei just love your use of color. your work is so soft and makes me feel peaceful!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so inviting. Lovely! I've been sidetracked a bit too lately. House remodels that popped up out of nowhere, just a whim that moved exceedingly fast. Oh, and I just bound my first sketchbook! Not great craftsmanship, but I learned tons and I cannot wait to make more! You were so right and now I have a sketchbook that has all the features I ever wanted!
ReplyDeleteThanks all - I really appreciate your kind comments!
ReplyDeleteWe are still settling in with our routine change, it always takes a bit to get used to - but we are having fun!
Pam - I can't wait to see what you do with Botany Bay as inspiration!
AutumnLeaves - I love your art works! But I am familiar with that fear too. Just have to keep working anyway.
Raena - good luck with your house stuff and I want to see that sketchbook! You will love it!
Beautiful! I love your Edisto paintings. You seem to be as enamored of Edisto as I am of Ocracoke! Nice to have places you love and can return to isn't it? :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely reflections in the water!
