These are the last two, out of my series of six art cards inspired by some of my favorite local scenes. They are both done with watercolor and a few touches of watercolor pencil. And like these images suggest, the fall color is beginning to appear around here. Only these past couple of days have been so wet and foggy up here in our mountains you would never know there was any color other than gray in the landscape. I suppose that's what makes splashing these colors around on paper so much fun. I enjoyed doing these so much that I have already begun another watercolor art card series. But I won't share what sort of landscape theme the next set is about - you'll just have to wait and see.
These are so colorful and beautiful. I have a silly question. Does ACEO mean a painting was originally done on an art card, and is only available as an art card? I'm confused. I've seen that ACEO before, and wasn't sure what it meant.
ReplyDeleteYour eye really gets pulled into these, lovely colours too!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine getting so much in a tiny little space! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThese are charming!
ReplyDeleteThey are just so lovable! =) The softness of the brush strokes and the strong colors, making them pretty much irresistible!
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful, Ann! Such lovely, vibrant colors. Our colors are much more muted... so it's nice to see that bright splash of Autumn on your cards.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that so much can be expressed in such little space! Well done.
ReplyDeleteSoft and lovely! nancy
ReplyDeleteI agree with Sandra - how can you fit so much in such a small space and yet it turns out so beautifully? Can't wait to see your next series.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I really appreciate you all stopping by and leaving such kind comments.
ReplyDeleteKatherine, ACEO stands for Art Cards Editions and Originals, so they could be either a print or an original work of art. The only requirement is that they must be 2.5 x 3.5 inches. Hope that helps! They are fun to do every so often.
These are great, Ann! And I'm jumping up and down, ecstatic that fall is here! Beautiful colors!
