Oh bother, I was hoping you'd tell about the black cherry pencils too... I don't like asparagus.. and now that I'm over 60 I don't have to eat anything I don't like :-)
Cant wait for our asparagus season to kick in (will be while, its snowing again : ) I like them lightly steamed and then with butter, lemon juice and just a hint of salt...(boy, Im in trouble, a lot of blogs I heave read this past week have been all about food, too much inspiration for cooking)
Sherry, I answered Elaine over on Flickr, http://www.flickr.com/photos/29216809@N08/6877979587/in/photostream It's a prismacolor colored pencil that I sketched with first, then put in the watercolor. Cream of asparagus soup sounds wonderful!
Cheryl, asparagus doesn't grow here in Feb., that's just when you can find it fresh in the grocery.
.said, I was thinking the same thing, that I have been sketching food a lot lately!
Ah lovely asparagus, lovely image and lovely to eat! My current gardening guru Ruth Stout writes a lot about her love for growing asparagus. Might have to find some room for it in the garden this year...
Beautiful sketch! I haven't had asparagus in a long time now... and this definitely reminds me that I should order some next time I am in a restaurant ^^ Thanks for your comments Ann.
It is and yours looks great! Same blue rubber bands that I find on the spears I buy!

Lovely sketch of one of my favorite vegies. In the west asparagus season is in April. Glad to know I can get it earlier here.
