As we step into Autumn I try to hold on to the summer sun just a little longer. This art card is from an image of the sunrise through the sea oats on the South Carolina coast of Edisto Island, my favorite place to catch the sun.
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
-Robert Frost

Thanks for stopping by the blog - looks like we're both focusing on the solstice. Love the poem by Robert Frost. I'll have to add that to my collection!

Really nice shades of color.. and totally captured the feeling of Sunrise there. I've always love staring into the sky for some reason..the clouds are just so fascinating to me. But if you have clouds and water... that it'd be even more perfect.... LIKE THIS ONE :)
Another wonderful piece Ann, and thanks for your comment. My family enjoyed looking at the drawing of my niece
Beautiful and soft colours.Lovely sketch which could almost make me like Autumn.
Beautiful sunrise image Ann! It is warm and inviting and has that touch of Autumn chill in it!
It's beautiful... and I love the composition.... makes me long to walk on the beach in the late evening.... picking up shells.... watching the waves roll in and the gulls circle overhead... daydreaming.....
What a beautiful sunrise. Love that spare and pretty grass. Very very nice.
Love the sky and the movement of the sea oats. Say it isn't autumn, already!
