Yesterday was such a brilliant autumn day that after Kiddo's PE class we took off on a photo safari. The foliage in our mountains has suddenly turned into a kaleidoscope of hues and we didn't want to let it go unnoticed.
I don't often post a work-in-progress but just to prove I have something in the works here is another apple drawing in progress, inspired by Jeanette Jobson's apple challenge. It is unlikely that I will finish it by the deadline so I thought I'd post it as a work-in-progress. This way you can see how my scribbles will eventually become the finished drawing. I hope to work on it some more over the next few days, if I'm not out soaking in these beautiful autumn days.

I always enjoy WIPs- because then I see how other artists do it ;)
Love the autumn colour- nothing that pretty here yet!!
It looks terrific already. I like WIP's too. I would have thought you'd do all of the apples at once but you aren't. Is this how you usually work? The finished apples look great.
I'm in awe with your ability to add such volume on a flat surface. I feel as if I could stick my finger down in the apple hole and feel the stem.
theres 5 days to go you might get it finished ;) looking good so far
Love your artwork and skill. Lovely pictures.
Very interesting to see your work in progress. It's hard to believe that the one on the right will look like the 3-D (real) one on the left. Amazing process that's a mystery to me.
The wip looks great so far. Love the composition and the viewpoint. Yes, do get out and enjoy the foliage!! Have a wonderful weekend.
I must say that Autumn is my favorite season, reason is probably the same as your picture, I mean... how beautiful is that right?! :) Just love it.
And wow, I know I've been doing a lot of WIP, but looking at yours is a totally new experience as I have not done one with colors. It's looking great already with one done, and I can imagine how wonderful this will look when you've finished it. Thank you Ann for your comments ^^
Oooh, these apples are going to be awesome! Love the reflection under the first one, or is it just another apple. Really you shame me. I started a fussy cp drawing of a pile of buttons a whole year ago, and it sits, half done, accusing me of being to lazy to finish up.
Your Fall is surging way ahead of ours (as usual!). We're just beginning to see bits of color here and there. This past Friday we had a high of 92 degrees ... ICK!!! I'm so ready for some cold weather!
