Blue skies smilin' at me

Nothin' but blue skies do I see. It was time for a change here. So yesterday I played with making a new header and tried on various color schemes for size. I wanted to move away from my safe beige. To a color that says, "Aaahhhh". Surprisingly, it was the deeper tones that showed off the art work better than the more pale colors. Yet pale is so much safer in matters such as this. Or unassuming anyway. Which is my usual tactic. So I am not entirely committed to this new look. Or to the new header. That's a work in progress also. Please let me know what you all think. Does this new look feel calm and comfortable? Is it a refreshing change? Or does it get in your way?

Pictured above is #39 of my 100 painting project. A view of the sky on a summer day as seen from my back yard.

  1. I like your new header, with its vivid colours it's nicely different from most of the other headers that one sees on the web. I also approve the idea of keeping a soft background, this gives the right evidence to your artworks.

  2. Beautiful sky! And I've always been fascinated by clouds formation, and this is exactly why ^^

  5. I love the new look, Ann. The colors are absolutely perfection and calm and serene are the magic words. A perfect backdrop for your stunning paintings of nature in all its glory. The header is beautiful too!

I can't tell you how often I look up to see similar vistas as you've painted here. I often find myself wishing I was on a plane going somewhere amazing too! And of course, that you have my beloved trees framing the bottom...just makes this perfect in my eyes!

  9. I like the new look. Of course, this slightly grayed-out blue is one of my favorite colors, so...I'm biased ;)

  12. Changing up the blog is a little like rearranging the furniture, isn't it! I do love to rearrange the furniture! The changes look great. The blue does make your pictures seem crisper for some reason. And that is a lovely painting!
