Sketchbook Tuesday - Squash

No, I didn't grow these. Are you kidding me? But they looked great at the grocery with all of their various twisty stems. I just had to buy some. They are destined to be dinner later this week.

We started back full-time with our homeschool lessons this week. It's always tough getting going again after a break. Right now there seem to be so many reasons not to stay on task and the days so far are dragging on and on. Hard to convince this 12 year old that she could finish her work sooner if she didn't dawdle so much. Oh well. I am hoping we will ease into a more comfortable routine soon. And that I can stop dawdling and get some art work done.

Not only is this a lovely sketch, you've got me craving squash with butter and brown sugar! I think your daughter is so blessed to be home schooled by mom. I always wished I could have done it for my daughters, and now? My grandkids.

This lovely squash sketch is bringing sunshine into our day.
May the homeschooling sessions get easier - it must be quite difficult to switch gears from holiday mode to teaching and learning mode. Just a bit of time to adjust should do the trick. And as a simple aside, I think dawdling is a great word. :-)

Lovely as always. You know, we had 6 beautiful squash plants in our garden this year and they yielded not a single fruit. Darn it.

Really nice job on these. They sure look better than what we buy here!

Nice when your money buys you a painting subject and supper in one purchase! Lovely colors!
