Sketchbook Tuesday - a little water play

After working for so long on my current colored pencil piece I really needed a break to do something loose and splashy. So here is a quick sketch done with watercolor in my hand made sketchbook, a view of the creek at a nearby park. I haven't been out sketching as much as I would like this summer, just too darn hot. Hopefully that will change soon.

pretty. I wish I was more proficient with watercolor. I just love how, well, watery they are. In all seriousness, it's the translucency you can achieve with them that just seems so appealing.
and good for you for getting outside to sketch and having a bit of a 'breezy' drawing day.

Yes, it's very pretty. As for "too damn hot" Absolutely! Here in the mitten it's gotten a bit cooler, but the humidity is terrible and the mosquitoes are just being mean and ugly. They swarm you in a heartbeat!! It's as though they've been waiting for the temp to drop so as to inflict more misery after it cooled off. OK, enough of a rant! lol nancy

Looks very nice. Cool even. Hope your weather breaks soon. I watch the weather map and every day so much of the country is hot, hot, hot!

Beautiful sketch/painting. Summer over here in The Netherlands has been very changeable with not much heat for which I am grateful.

So lovely and oh so pretty! I'm with you on the heat woes. I can't stand summer weather. Just totally wrecks me for energy.
