sketchbook : random still life

It has been cool, very wet, and very foggy for days on end here in our Southern mountains. Wanting to sketch I chose random objects from my kitchen for a little watercolor play time.

I am still enjoying this Strathmore watercolor sketchbook. However, when I sketch across the page, as I did here, the entire page spread does not fit on my scanner. So you are left with a less than crisp photo in order to view what's inside my sketchbook.

the photo looks clear enough to me, the colours are still vibrant :)

Enjoying all your artwork lately! Doesn't the almanac say that for every day of fog in August corresponds to how many days of snow in winter? Something like that. Even down here in the piedmont, we have been having lots of foggy, rainy, cool days. Hmmm...

Thanks Jennifer and Jennifer!
Yes, local folk lore says that for every fog in August there will be a snow in winter. As is the local custom we put a bean in a jar for each fog and then take one out for each snow. They are usually pretty close in count. We already have 7 beans!

Dear Ann - love the subjects you picked to sketch. Simple things really take on a glow when captured in a sketch. Yours always do. Have a lovely day.

Great primaries in this piece. Love the colors and combination of objects too, Ann. Where there is a will there is way!
