Sketchbook Tuesday

Here are a couple of watercolor sketches from my moleskine watercolor journal done over the holiday. We had a wonderful, relaxing visit with a very good friend, cooked and ate a lot and went out the day after Thanksgiving to get our Christmas tree. That's our tradition.
Christmas trees are the main agricultural product in our area, and there is a beautiful tree farm just up the road from us. At this time of year it is a common site to see truckloads of trees leaving town for sales all over the country. A sign of the season.

And yes, it is now December already. Time to think about those yearly goals and planning for the new year. I already have a plan in place. I have been working on something new and exciting, a bold project for the coming year. But I'm not going to tell you yet. That would spoil the surprise.

Hi Ann!

Gosh, you've been busy while I've been ..... well..... busy too! I'm just now digging out from under the Thanksgiving cleaning, cooking and company (a week's worth combined). Was lovely... but it's now nice to get back into a normal schedule.

I see I have a questionnaire to fill out... will get to that in just a few minutes!

Mmmm, cheddar cheese bread. Wondered what it was, though it looked awfully good, and homemade too! I like the relaxing feel of your Christmas tree farm sketch. The season of surprises - I guess I'll just have to wait for your bold project. Hmmmph. (hate waiting, but love surprises)

Love the tree farm. You've captured what this time of year looks and feels like outdoors.

I'm inspired that you are sketching regularly while busy...that's my challenge. Thanks for the spark to keep on.

Thanks for posting the bread recipe! Looks and sounds yummy.

Don't you love tree farms? We live in a small town, on the outskirts of deep farm country.... and there is this wonderful tree farm by us too. I think having that live tree smell makes all the difference in the holiday spirit.
