Sketchbook Tuesday - Oops it's Wednesday

But I may as well post a sketch anyway. We have had a busy couple of weeks here with Kiddo's dance performances and trying to keep up in spite of all three of us being sick. I did the sketches above after coming home from taking Kiddo to the doctor last week. The scene on the left is a view from our living room, the same view that I sketched last January when everything was under a blanket of snow.

Kiddo did wonderfully in her performances last weekend, in spite of feeling poorly. And now we are enjoying a period of rest and trying to get over this bug we keep passing around. I know I haven't been blogging or visiting your blogs and commenting very much but I feel like I need a little break from it all. I do have quite a backlog of paintings for my 100 painting project that are ready for scanning and posting which I intend to catch up with very soon. Right after I've regrouped and recharged. And spent some time just sitting in this glorious sunshine we're having these days. With my sketchbook, of course.

Both sketches are just lovely. But the one with your daughter moves me. It is very sweet.

They are lovely. I'm glad your daughter was able to dance in spite of not feeling well. I love to see children perform - for some reason it always moves me to the point of tears. She's very precious. I hope all of you feel healthy again soon! nancy

Thanks Donna and Nancy!
Kiddo insisted on dancing in the shows this past weekend in spite of my efforts to keep her home since she wasn't well. She was a determined young lady!
Nancy, they always make me cry too! I keep thinking I'll get over that. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

As has been said, I too am glad that your daughter was able to perform despite feeling poorly and yes, I too especially like the sketch of her. Take all the break time you need and may everyone be feeling 100% soon.

She sounds like a great girl and she has a proud mother. Love the sketches so much detail how I wish.

Wow, Ann. As always I am blown away by your sketches. Your palette is just always so exquisite, eye candy for me! I do hope and pray that all three of you are feeling better and that just simply sitting in the sunshine and doing nothing for a bit recharges all your batteries. Now...if you just had a hammock!

Wonderful sketches, Ann! Hope you're all feeling better soon!

Lovely sketch. The girl sleeping in the couch made the drawing act a quiet activity I guess. It´s the only time I can draw people alive: when they are sleeping!

Wonderful paintings (very soft colours)... Too bad you are all feeling sick, I hope everyone will be up and about sooner than later (no fun with spring colds).

All the pretty colors are still retained in your drawings and that's all the great stuff there!
I am sorry to hear that you're not feeling well, and I really hope that you're all better now.
I was really wondering that it's already Tuesday and something wasn't right...now I know why, I didn't get to see Ann's drawing ^^

I hear you on the "taking a break" part. With the weather being so nice, I want to be outdoors. It seems I don't have enough time to post or comment except for about once a week now. Of course, I should take my sketchbook with me for a few quick drawings while I'm enjoying the sunshine.

Hope you enjoy your break and come back recharged to continue on your painting series.
