Stream - finished!

Betcha thought I'd never finish this one! Well, I have come to a stopping place and I am ready, more than ready, to move on. I must admit, that I haven't worked very consistently on this piece. More about that later. But I do feel the need to take a break from drawing water images for a bit. I've been thinking about graphite, trees, and snow. We'll see.

The thing about not working consistently is really due to a number of factors. One is that I have been more interested in just working in my sketchbooks these days. Another issue is that homeschooling kiddo has been taking more time this year. Her lessons require more time for her to do and more input from me. The realization that 7th grade is almost 8th grade, which is almost high school (yikes!), and skills need to be mastered, topics explored more deeply, and will we ever find success with a foreign language program? Then there's all of the other stuff I have been enjoying. Like helping Kiddo learn to cook, and working with her on her crocheting. All of this is probably one reason why a sketchbook format is more appealing for me now. Yet I do have lots of ideas I want to try, like what I mentioned above. I could easily fill several more hours each day.

One more thing about this drawing. .  . I am not entirely satisfied with my uninspired choice for the title. Any ideas would be most welcome!

This is lovely, Ann,

You do sound awfully busy with all you do, but it certainly isn't interfering with the quality of your art.

Well, I tried to come up with a title, but I think I am too blown away right now by the sheer beauty of this, Ann!!! Such marvelous energy! Brilliant work!

Stunning! Exciting! Colorful! Masterfully done. Wow - you should be proud of this one.

I see water coming from all necks of the stream and coming together here in a joyful meeting. So two ideas I have for titles are "The Gathering" and "Reunion". Or maybe even "Frolic" (it looks like a happy excitement.). Or something along those lines.

This is just so amazing. I can't imagine there's so many colors in waters, and your brought out the best of them ^^

I love how you've captured the rainbow shimmers that often happen through misty water like this. It is so very lovely!!!

I am still so awed by your commitment to home schooling. When my kids were growing up, I wanted to homeschool them myself. Unfortunately, their dad was dead set against it and after our divorce, I had to work (and he still was so against it he'd have taken me to court if I tried). I would have loved it! The girls? I'm not so sure. LOL

This must be so amazing up close! Can you post a few close-ups of sections so we can see more line work? Just love the energy!

It looks super! Sketchbooks are more relaxing and casual. I can see how you'd be drawn to work in one when you are so busy.

Title ideas:

Splash!

Gonna Be a Grand Canyon Someday

Too Much Energy
Okay, maybe Stream works just fine!

Hi Ann,

This is a wonderfully energetic piece, so well done for finishing it! It's got a lot of movement, personality and as I said before energy. I get a real feel for the movement of the water. So maybe those keywords may help with an alternative title?

Thanks all!
Revelle and others, look for a post later this week where I decide on a better title, (thanks to every one's inspiration!), and post a couple of detail shots. I do always make sure that there is a larger image when you click on the photo. I know how that is. I always want to see the art up close to view the brush strokes or pencil marks and am disappointed when artists keep their images too small to enlarge.

I think it's beautiful. Love the simplicity of the title, wouldn't change it.
