sketchbook :: winter blooms

It's about time I posted something from my sketchbook. The pinks of these azalea blossoms were tricky to represent with paint. And again tricky to adjust from the scan. But I think it all worked out alright. Of course, if I flattened the page down a little better when scanning my sketchbook there wouldn't be that shadow showing, but you get the idea. This was done with watercolor only in my handmade sketchbook.

I think this is beautiful and it is sketchbooks like your own that make me so wish mine looked half as cool. I tend to abandon mine once I get a really bad effort in them. Seems to ruin the whole book for me.

Ann - I think your azaleas are lovely. Pinks and reds are so hard for me. Thanks for sharing.
