Edisto Sunrise

Has it really been two weeks since I last posted? Good grief. We're covered up in snow here so of course I seek refuge by painting the ocean. There was a point in the painting of this where I was sure it was destined for the bin. Yet I continued painting anyway, only with a little more abandon than usual. Then I let it sit quietly for a few days. I am now happy with the result, especially that distant water..More lessons in allowing watercolor paint to behave like watercolor paint.

Absolutely stunning, Ann, truly! The palette is fabulous too.

I love your ocean studies, Ann. Painting water intimidates me, but I'll be on Kiawah Island in a couple weeks and your paintings have inspired me to give my own studies a try.

Dear Ann - this is so beautiful. Your ocean really looks good to my winter eyes ! Hope spring returns soon - I think all of us on this side of the Rockies is more than ready. Have a great week.
