You say tomato

This is my sketch for Everyday Matters #212, draw a mirror image. This little tomato from the supermarket looked pretty, but didn't taste like much though. I do miss fresh garden tomatoes. This tomato and its reflection were drawn in graphite in my small hand.book journal.

And that snow on Sunday - we ended up with a foot of snow. Twelve inches. For this area it was greatest amount of snow in one snowfall since January of 1998. The sun has come out yet it's still just 10 degrees. Oh yay.

Ann, I'll take a slice please.

Lovely drawing. I especially like the light play caught in the reflection. The overall comp is good with the stalk and reflection stalk bringing me back to center.

Wonderful drawing Ann! I just love looking at the results of the drawing groups, like Everyday Matter and the Virtual Sketch group. Someday when I have more time I'm gonna get involved!

Ann, your reflected tomato is a real gem! I long for warm days and fresh produce. And I've been wondering how people like you who normally don't see much snow are doing with the recent gift of the cold white stuff. Stay warm!

Your reflected tomato is so wonderful I'd love to see this same setup done in colour. Your colour sketches are wonderful as well.

Lovely :) I refuse to buy tomatoes in winter because they taste like cardboard!
We had a bunch of snow too :) Hope you got photos so you can draw it later ;)

What a super drawing! It will soon be time to get planting so we can have lovely tomatoes from the garden.

It seems tomatoes the world over can disappoint in flavour at times. Your drawing however, makes up for that, I can almost feel the shiny skin and the dry prickliness of the stalk.
Wonderful.

I do like your pencil work, always delicate and this drawing has such a nice composition. The shape of the stalk really adds such interest in the mirror, really works.
