These days

I haven't been working as steadily on my art as I had hoped to be these past several weeks. It's been more hit and miss. Lots of other stuff going on I guess. And I have been doing some other projects that are keeping me busy. And finding things like closets that need cleaning out. And doing a lot of cooking. Well, I always do a lot of cooking but lately I have been experimenting more and baking more.
And reading. I have been absorbed in reading, especially since I got my Nook. Those things are just too cool. And did you know that Barnes & Noble has a free book every Friday for the Nook? Now I am never going to get through my reading list.

Ah, hooked on the Nook. Reading is such a relaxing pastime. You can only enjoy one thing at a time, and sometimes it's this, sometimes that. Do look forward to your artwork though. I can't say anything because I haven't been too productive in that area either.....and that's when I listen to my Audible.com books, so I have entirely no excuse.

Big projects are challenging aren't they?, and they take a lot out of you - Maybe you need a little input? I'm sure you'll get back into it when you are ready - in the meantime nice sketchbook pages - that's lovely line drawing of your dog!

I love these journal pages and especially the colors on those scrumptious pears! As to life keeping you busy, I must say I am in awe. I used to cook and bake alot and these days it is rare. Simply too tired all of the time, alas. Which makes me want that dog's life up there! LOL I got my girls each an ereader from Bed Bath & Beyond for their birthdays (I got an amazing deal - regularly $150 and they were marked down to $30 with my daughter's discount!) They like them alot. Me? I'm an old fashioned give me a book kind of girl. I haven't been reading as much as I'm wont to do but it is my all time favorite thing to do (even more than creating)!

Love these! The colors on the pears are delicious, and the dog is so nicely done. I need to practice sketching our dog - I'm usually not too happy with the results.

I am planning to get a Kindle sometime before our trip to China. I can't see being without books, and I also can't see packing months worth of them with me!

How I know the feeling, so much you want to do and not enough hours in the day. Great sketches!

Life does have a way of taking over your life ;) Love the pears, they are so beautiful shaded. The dog, too, is awfully nice.

Is Sarah a Corgi by any chance? We had a corgi and he died about a year ago. Beautiful drawing and I love the quote. Nice page altogether. I too have been away from my art lately. Working double duty at work, going through the beginning of a divorce, sick parents, so much stress, add to that soccer mom of a 15-year-old, and boy do I need to go make art! Hope to be back at it soon. Thanks for all the inspiration your blog provides!
