Painting #5 - Summer Shade

I'm still enjoying the summer sun, if only in my imagination. This is a scene from a park near our home. It's not much of a park, really, just a track with a soccer field in the center. One side of the track runs along the north fork of the New River. Rarely is anyone else there. So we often take the dogs to walk around the track a few times while Kiddo rides her scooter. I enjoy the quiet, unassuming beauty of the place.

It's a lovely painting! And how nice to drop in on summer in the middle of gray, cold, and wet winter! Thank you for that!

what a beautiful scenery! The sky is so lovely, and the tree is just amazing! Love the shadows it cast over the field... I am feeling so peaceful just by looking at it :)

Oooh, I like big shade trees and huge summer shadows! Keep doing more of these! I might be interested in a shady grove.

So does the water mixing paints dry faster than the regular oils?

I so love the peaceful spots, and this conveys that - well done.

This could so be a spot around where I live. There is a definite simple beauty. The distant tree line is perfect and those skies! So lovely! Thank you too for your comment, Ann. You've opened my eyes a bit more (I'm such a novice!). No worries on my glass piece though. I wouldn't be brave enough to enter of my stuff into any show, juried or otherwise.

I can picture riding my bike, resting under that tree. Toasty and warm. Lovely!
