Summer Song

A local walking and biking path follows a meandering, mountain river, where I found this view. This is #33 of my 100 painting project.

We have been experiencing painfully beautiful summer days here lately. Brilliant blue skies, flowers bursting with color, the scent of basil and lavender growing in our yard and garden, the birds' songs waking me in the cool morning air coming through the window...I would like to bottle these days. If I could save just one to open for a moment on some dark, cold day of winter.

Ann, I just got a chance to review your last three posts all with strong works and wonderful words. Your love of nature is effusive- and your joy in life apparent. You exude a positive aura that is irrepressible and attractive. I'm so glad to know you through your blog and through your glorious art!

Beautiful painting Ann! I wish you could travel to our side of the globe to enjoy winters. It would be the best of both worlds :)

This is just beautiful, Ann. Here is one small bottled summer day for you, and for me! I can almost see this gorgeous spot in my head and long to sit beneath the leafy branches of the tree gazing over the water. My kind of summer day for sure!!

Such depth is so little space! Terrific. Gee, your 1/3 of the way through your project.

Do another one, just like this, and just large enough to fit perfectly in your window. Then when it is cold, just slip it in and you'll be thrown back to this glorious day! Beautiful painting!

Lovely painting. All that's missing is the tire swing over the water....

I love this - such rich colors, bright in the foreground and muted in the back, and a sense of place and distance. Excellent! I think you have bottled this day.
