Work to do

A couple more sketches from our get-away last week to the South Carolina coast. Above is a sketch I did while sitting on the beach. The weather was glorious, mid 80's, nice ocean breeze, a beautiful day at the beach. Sketched this in my hand.book landscape journal with brown colored pencil then colored with watercolor. Below are a few of the many shells kiddo collected, drawn with watercolor pencils and graphitints, then washed with water in my watercolor Moleskine.

Now that we are back in our mountains I haven't had much motivation for working on art this past week. Hopefully I'll get it together and have some new work to show soon. But I did take care of one very important responsibility today. I voted. If you are a US citizen make sure that you vote too. It's our job.

Lovely, Ann! Especially that beach scene. It makes me wish for slightly warmer temperatures so I could be there and go for a walk.. perhaps with you??

Great drawings!!

gorgeous sketches :) I really like the colours you have used for the shells, especially the small one on the bottom left. Looks exactly like how I remember shells like that.

Hmmm, I thought I left a comment last time I was by. I enjoyed your beach scene and your shells. Those shells look like you could pick on up!

The watercolor sketch of the beach is great. It's really more than a sketch and worthy of a frame as a memento.

The sketch of the Carolina beach is wonderful. We love going to Myrtle Beach and hanging out on the beach all day and at Harolds in North Myrtle Beach at night for some graet beach music and dancing. It's cold here this morning and your sketch warmed me. Thank you.

By the way I voted today also! It was my first time in 41 years this Dec 5th. The guy was quite surprised that my middle name is peaches and that I've never voted :}

I stopped at this post because I enjoy how "easy" and natural you've made the scene appear.
